Global term
NDA (Non disclosure agreement)
A short legal agreement that stops either party sharing confidential information learned during a project.
NDAs are routine on freelance work, especially for unreleased products, financial data or proprietary processes. Most are mutual, time bound (one to three years) and limited to non public information. Read for three things before signing: scope of confidential information, duration, and non solicit clauses that might restrict your future work. If a client wants to lock you out of an entire industry, push back or walk away.
