Freelance rates by skill and country.

Each page shows a floor, median and ceiling hourly band in local currency, plus an indicative day rate. Numbers start from Hustle Report's UK benchmark bands and static FX tables (same engine as salary pages) so you can quote clients without guessing.

Common questions

Freelance rates · FAQ

  • Are these rates for full-time remote jobs or contracting?

These pages are for freelance / contracting and side-hustle work: hourly bands, median day rates, and what you should quote as a floor. Full-time remote salary bands live in the salary cluster instead.

  • Do you account for tax when estimating a rate floor?

Yes. Your take-home is what matters. We pair rate bands with country tax framing so you can sanity-check whether a contract rate actually clears your target after taxes, downtime and expenses.

  • Why do country rates differ for the same skill?

Demand, currency, and local client budgets vary. The best move is often cross-border work (e.g. billing USD) while staying compliant with your tax-residency rules.

  • Where can I read the tax rules by country?

Start with our country guides at /freelance-tax. Each page covers thresholds, filing deadlines, pitfalls and a worked example in local currency.

  • Do you publish free job listings?

No. We do not syndicate job listings via structured data. We keep the surface editorial: skill pages, rate bands, and guidance that helps you quote and win work.
