Solopreneur

A person who builds and runs a business entirely alone, without employees, combining entrepreneur ambition with a freelancer's flexibility.

A solopreneur is different from a freelancer in one key way: they build systems and products rather than selling time. A freelancer swaps hours for money; a solopreneur builds a newsletter, a course, a SaaS tool or a productised service that can generate revenue at scale. The distinction matters because income potential is not capped by working hours. Many solopreneurs start as freelancers, then systematise their most repeatable work into a product. Hustle Report tracks both models in the income tracker and can help you identify which side activities are worth productising versus staying as active client work.
